So I ran across another tumblr post about my raffle today (this is what, like the 10th one?!). To be honest I'm so tired of these popping up all over the place. I don't really understand why people have such issues with it. I know that I can't please everyone but it just kills me that these people feel the need to talk bad about me when I have done nothing to deserve it.
I can tell you that I am one of the most honest people that you will ever meet. Honest to a point that gets me in trouble in my "real" life too often. My husband says I don't have a filter...maybe that is true, but I don't see what you gain from lying, cheating and ass kissing.
So today's lovely post claims that my raffle was a scam because my family just went on a "fancy vacay". Here is what the actual post says "Latest sympathy raffle holder goes on a fancy vacay shortly after selling all their tickets. Talk about a big scam! How do we go about getting our money back?". What really gets to me is that these people that post anonymously don't have a clue as to what they are talking about. I just want to get the facts straight so that I don't have anyone else that donated to my raffle feeling like I scammed them.
The "fancy vacay" that we went on was already paid for before my daughter broke her arm. If you want or need proof, I took a photo back on January 21st, 2013 of our Seattle City Passes for the ADAD group. It's on my Flickr. We bought them with Christmas money for our family vacation that we planned around our nephew's graduation over in Tacoma. My daughter broke her arm 2 months later in March. If the trip wouldn't have already been paid for, believe me, we wouldn't and couldn't have gone. In fact we had to cancel our hotel room and stay with my brother in his apartment because we didn't have the money for the hotel. We also tried to plan fun things that didn't cost anything (like going to the ocean).
On another note: I also just sent the ENTIRE amount earned from the raffle to the hospital and the ENTIRE amount from Lorraine's Icy sale to the doctor yesterday. And yes, I took photos of the checks in case someone decided to pull this bullshit on me.
I hope that all of my friends and the people in the community that supported this cause believe that there was absolutely NO scam with my raffle whatsoever.
UGH!! people! they need to shush up! lol!
